Potato and carrot soup for babies.

Potato and carrot soup is healthy, testy and weight gaining food for babies. Potato is good source of carbohydrates and vitamins and carrot is good source of vitamin A and K. Potato and carrot are root vegetables, carrot is usually orange in colour and sweet in taste. Both vegetables are very healthy for babies. Potatoes are good for weight gain so you can give your toddler. It can given in cough & cold when baby doesn’t want to eat solid food, it’s soothing you baby’s sore throat. If your baby is below one year then don’t add salt in this soup. Let’s see how to prepare this soup –
Ingredient –
1. One small carrot
2. One medium size potato
3. Butter/ ghee
4. Pinch of salt
5. Water
Method –
1. first peel the skin of potato and carrot. Then clean it with water properly and cut it into pieces.
2. Take a pressure cooker add one large cup of water add slice’s of potato and carrot, boil it till one whistle comes.
3. Take out all vegetables from cooker and blend it in blender, Take a pan heat it.
4. Add some butter in it and pour puree in pan, add water to get little thin consistency.
5. Add little salt in it, stir it 1 minute and switch off the flame.

Why we shouldn’t give cow milk before one year..

As we all know that breast milk is very important for new born. It has all nutrition which a new born requires. If mother is not able to feed breast milk due to some reasons then replace it with formulas but don’t use cow milk.

There are many reason why we shouldn’t use cow milk before one year –

1. Cow milk contains high protein and mineral, which can effect a newborn immature kidney.

2. Cow milk lacks proper amount of iron, vitamin C, and other nutrients which newborn needs.

3. Infant can’t digest cow milk easily.

Vegetable Daliya ( broken wheat ) for babies.

Broken wheat or daliya is very healthy for babies, kids and adults. It is good source of fiber and low in fat. There are many varieties in broken wheat. large size, medium size, small size broken wheat. I use small size of broken wheat for my baby . It’s easy to digest and very quick recipe. let’s get start –

Ingredients –

1. Broken wheat 1 tablespoon

2. Lentil ( daal ) 1 tablespoon

3. vegetables like carrot, bottle gourd, beetroot, beans, cauliflower, potato.

4. 1/2 teaspoon Cumin seed

5. Pinch of Turmeric

6. Ghee 1 teaspoon

Method – first wash and cut the all vegetables. Take a cooker heat it on medium flame aad 1 teaspoon of ghee in it, when it becomes warm then add 1/2 teaspoon of Cumin seed in it. add pinch of turmeric, Stir it for 30 second. Put all vegetables, daal and broken wheat ( daliya ) in cooker stir it for a minute. Add 2 cup of water in it, close the lid and cook it till 2-3 whistle comes. If your baby is one year old then add pinch of salt in it.

3. Milk

Method – take a pan and Add 1 cup of water and mix 2 tablespoon of ragi. Make a fine paste to prevent lums. cook it for one minute, stir it continuously. Add milk in this mixture. Stir it well. It’s ready to serve.

banana is an ideal fruit that can be introduced to babies who are at least 6 months old or those babies who are ready to eat solid or semi-solid food. ripe banana is very soft and baby can eat easily. Constipation can be found in baby and toddlers because they lie on their back. They can’t push their stool properly. So add one-two tablespoon of mashed banana daily in their diet. bananas are an ideal food for babies because of this easily digestible feature. Let’s get started-

Ingredient –

1. One ripe banana

2. 1 tablespoon of water or breast milk ( if required )

Method – take one ripe banana, mash it with the help of fork or spoon. Make a very fine paste. If it is thick then add water or breast milk in it to make a thin and smooth consistency that baby can easily swallow it.

Today I am going to share vegetable khichdi recipe for babies. It’s very healthy and tasty too. It’s easy to make and very nutritious. You can choose veggies of your choice. Let’s get started –

Ingredients-

1. 1 tablespoon rice

2. 1 tablespoon lentil(daal)

3. Vegetables (peas, bottle gourd, carrot, cauliflower,beetroot, beans, potato, spinach).

4. 1 teaspoon ghee

5. 1/2 teaspoon cumin seed

6. Pinch of turmeric

7. Water ( according to quantity of khichdi).

Method – take a pressure cooker, heat it on medium flame, put ghee in it. When the ghee becomes warm, add cumin seed and stir it for 30 seconds. Add soaked and washed daal and rice in it, stir it for 1-2 minutes then put all vegetables, stir it for 1-2 minutes. add 3 cup of water in it, close the lid and cook it till 2-3 whistle comes. Switch off the flame, mash it well or grind it in grinder and Serve warm.

Today I am going to share vegetable puree for babies. When baby has completed 6 month then they want all nutrition for their growth. So we should give them vegetables, fruits , milk ( it contains vitamins, iron, protein ). Let’s get started –

1. Carrot, cauliflower and beans puree –

Method – first wash these vegetables nicely. Take a pressure cooker put all vegetables into it and add 2 cups of water. Cook it till 2-3 whistle comes. Grind it in a grinder or mixer, make a fine paste.

2. Bottle gourd, beans, beetroot puree –

Method – first wash these vegetables nicely. Take a pressure cooker put all vegetables into it and add 2 cups of water. Cook it till 2-3 whistle comes. Grind it in a grinder or mixer, make a fine paste.

You can choose any vegetable of your choice. It’s very healthy for growing babies. You can serve it in lunch or dinner.
